Almost all worthwhile endeavours require learning and willingness to improve before the expert status could be reached.

I’m sure you’ve heard the common saying, what is worth doing is worth doing well. I’ve used the statement on multiple occasions to encourage people to put in their best in whatever they do, and I always use it to motivate myself to get stuff done. But my thinking and interpretation of this saying were recently challenged when a friend interpreted it as meaning, if you don’t know how to do certain things well enough, you should not attempt to start it. Although…

Identify your strengths & Capitalize on them.

He was born with a rare disorder characterized by the absence of arms and legs.
He couldn’t walk, run, or jog like regular people.
He has no hands or arms to write, shake, or hug.

Yet, Nick Vujicic became a motivational speaker with millions of followers.

Disabilities do not mean you cannot live a purposeful life.
You may not be able to do things the way regular people do.
You must never let your challenge disable your dreams.

Challenges are not only physical.
They come in different forms.

They can be:

Financial — not enough funds…

Love your neighbor as yourself — the greatest commandment

Photo by Jon Tyson on Unsplash

Matthew 22: 37–40 Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Most of us exhibit convenient love.

We love our spouses because they are beautiful & attractive.
We love our families, because of the blood connection.
We love our friends, because they are fun to be with.
We love our church members because we belong to the same body of Christ.

It’s all about putting first thing first.

What would happen if you knew the exact thing you need to do today to move you towards your goals? What if you can say the same thing about every day — you know what you must do when to do them, and you have a plan of how to proceed to get what you want? How would your life look like if you can accomplish these?

I know what would happen — you will bring orderliness into your day, your stress level will go down, you will be more focused, you will…

Our decisions today will influence our tomorrow.

Photo by Albert Dera on Unsplash

We are the products of our decisions.
The decisions we made in the past made us who we are today.
Our decisions today will influence our future.

Some decisions are made for short term benefits
While some are driven by long-term prospects.
How can you effectively balance short-term benefits with longer-term rewards?

Most of the future rewards are driven by temporary sacrifice.

A student who skips class to hang out with friends enjoys momentary fun.
A student that does the opposite is focusing on the long-term reward of graduation.

A person who earns and spend all his money…

God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” Exodus 3:14

The name “I AM” is the most powerful name, because it is applicable to any and all situations you may encounter.

If you are sick, I AM is your healer.

If you are heart-broken, I AM is your comforter.

If you are lonely, I AM is your companion.

When you are confused, I AM can provide guidance.

When you are afraid, I AM can provide confidence to move forward.

When you feel…

He was tagged “slow, dull, and impractical.”
His teacher advised him to leave college.
They put a limitation on what George Westinghouse can achieve or become.

George Westinghouse refused to accept the limitations and negative opinions about him.
At age 19, he invented the rotary steam engine.
At age 21, he invented a device to guide derailed trains back on the track
At age 22, he invented a railroad braking system using compressed air.
(air brake systems used in railroads)

He defied the negative opinions about him.
He did not allow limitations to limit what he could accomplish.
He learned and improved at what he does.

Don’t ask, what if I fail. Instead, ask — how can I succeed?

Photo by Sharon McCutcheon on Unsplash

We all love success. We celebrate successful people around us. We admire them, and sometimes we do wonder what sets them apart. We want to know what really motivates them to take the steps towards whatever they accomplish? Is there something specific that they did that helped them achieve their goals? Of course, we all know that they have plans, strategies, and tactics that eventually led to the outcome that they got, but the very first step starts with one thing — the courage to fail.

If you are going into any endeavor where you already have a 100% chance…

All the water in the world won’t sink your boat if it doesn’t get inside.

If you have ever been at the receiving end of it, Congratulations
You got it because you attempted something
It was doled out to you because of your efforts.

If you have never been criticized, it means
You are either so perfect, or you are not attempting anything
The former is just not possible.

Davy Crockett once said, “Make sure you are right, then go ahead.”
In your endeavor, make sure you always give your best.
Bring on your A-game.

Being criticized is not a problem.
Your reaction to it determines your…
